Netflix’s ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ Announces 10 New Cast Members

The sequel spin-off series of Vikings is aiming for 2021 or early 2022 premiere for Netflix. The spin-off, entitled Vikings: Valhalla, will act as the next step in the story world beloved by fans from its parent series on the History Channel. In preparation for the upcoming streaming series, it has been announced that ten new cast members will join the series including Frida Gustavsson (Swoon, The Witcher), Laura Berlin (Cologne P.D.), Leo Suter (The Liberator), Sam Corlett (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), David Oakes (The White Queen, Victoria), Bradley Freegard (Gwaith/Cartref, Keeping Faith), Jóhannes Jóhannesson (Game of Thrones, Cursed), Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead, The Woman), Asbjørn Krogh Nissen (X), and Caroline Henderson (Gooseboy), via Deadline

The series’ parent show on the History Channel has just concluded its final sixth season in late 2020. Vikings: Valhalla will be set in the early 11th century and once more display and analyze the Vikings figures that once conquered. Gustavsson will play the Viking Freydis Eriksdotter, Corlett will portray Leif Eriksson, Freegard will take on King Canute, Jóhannsesson will portray Olaf Haraldson, Suter will portray Harald Sigurdsson, Henderson will play the role of Jarl Haakon, Oakes as Earl Godwin, Krogh Nissen as Jarl Kåre, McIntosh as Queen Ælfgifu, and Berlin as Emma of Normandy, according to Deadline

Currently, the Netflix spin-off series lacks a set premiere date, but began its production in October 2020. Vikings: Valhalla will focus on the relationship between the Nordic individuals and the three English lords that are competing in a power vacuum for the throne. The series is created by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive) and Michael Hirst (Vikings, The Tudors).
