

The global phenomenon, Squid Game has recently released a trailer for its highly anticipated third season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third season will follow the events from the previous one in which Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-Jae (The Acolyte, New World), returns to the deadly arena after a failed rebellion, which ended with the death of his friend Jung-bae, played by Lee Seo-hwan (Undercover High School, Lost) by the hands of the Frontman, played by Lee Byung-hun (Red 2, Our Blues).
According to Tudum, the trailer gives a glimpse into the remaining challenges that Gi-hun and the rest of the participants will compete in, with one being jump rope-based and another other being a maze. The series creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk (Silenced, The Fortress) talks with Tudum about the current journey ,”The new season will focus on what Gi-hun can and will do after all his efforts fail.”
He further comments on Gi-hun’s mental state, stating, “He is in utter despair after losing everything and witnessing all his efforts go to waste. The story then takes an intriguing turn, raising the question of whether Gi-hun can overcome his shame and rise again to demonstrate that human values—like conscience and kindness—can prevail even in such a challenging arena.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, only six episodes have been officially confirmed for this season so far. Still, there’s no doubt that many more are on the way, promising excitement ahead! According to mxdwn, not only will we see what’s happening within the games, but also on the outside, such as Officer Hwang Jun-ho, played by Wi Ha-joon (Gyeongseong Creature, Bad and Crazy) finding the island’s location and the Pink Guard, played by Park Gyu-young (Sweet Home, Celebrity), whose coming up with their plans to dismantle the games.
While await on the release of the third season which is scheduled for June 27, the entire first and second season of Squid Game are available to stream on Netflix.
