Netflix’s “To All The Boys I Loved Before” Gets Sequel Greenlit

All rom-com fans can be super merry this Christmas season — Netflix has officially announced that it will be developing sequel to its super popular original movie, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, per TVline.

Premiering earlier this year in August, the film followed the teenage heroine Lara Jean, as her life is turned upside down when she learns that her secret love letters to her five childhood crushes, have been delivered to each one.

Relative newcomers, Noah Centineo (The Fosters) and Lana Condor (Alita: Battle Angel and Syfy’s Deadly Class) have been confirmed to be reprising their roles. Sofia Alvarez (Man Seeking Woman) will also be writing the adapted screenplay once again.

Via Instagram, the two co-stars announced the news, while a subsequent letter from the streaming giant to its fans, inspired by the love notes of protagonist Lara Jean Covey, was also released:

To All the Fans I’ve Loved Before — I miss you. I know it’s only been a few months and I swear I wasn’t trying to avoid you; I just didn’t know how to answer your question without lying to you. The truth isn’t always simple or straightforward — and as we all know too well, dating contracts have a way of quickly getting complicated. But, the letters are out… it’s true. A To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel is coming to Netflix. And yes, you can seamlessly continue to run your #Covinsky fan accounts because your dreamy stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo are in on it, too. So let’s do this. I promise the next chapter will be worth the wait!
