Netflix horror drama series, The Order, has been canceled, according to Deadline. The streaming service has decided not to renew the show after two seasons.
Set at a fictional New England university, The Order followed secret factions of witches and werewolves battle each other as well as supernatural forces. According to Deadline, creator and executive producer Dennis Heaton (Fido, My Pal Satan) revealed the news on Twitter. In his posts, he described how he was “honored” to have worked on the show and even teased fans about what he had planned for an eventual third season.
According to Deadline, the show starred Jake Manley (Infamous, A Dog’s Journey) as Jack Morton, a college freshman at Belgrave University who has an ulterior motive for attending the college. After being admitted to a secret coven of witches, he seeks to enact revenge against the man he holds responsible for murdering his mother – his estranged father. But his mission goes awry when he falls for fellow witch Alyssa, played by Sarah Grey (Power Rangers, Liar, Liar, Vampire), and becomes entangled with an opposing group of werewolves. The cast included Katherine Isabelle (Hannibal, Supernatural), Devery Jacobs (Rhymes for Young Ghouls, The Lie), Adam DiMarco (Girlhouse, The Magicians), Thomas Elms (I Still See You, Spiral) and Louriza Tronco (Make It Pop, Zapped).
According to Deadline, Heaton produced through Nomadic Pictures along with Chad Oakes (Mutant World, Confessions of a Go-Go Girl), Mike Frislev (The Last Rites of Ransom Pride, The Drom), and David Von Anken (Seraphin Falls, Bullet in the Brain).
