Netflix’s ‘The House Of Guinness’ Adds James Norton and Jack Gleeson To The Cast

The House of Guinness is pouring out its new cast. According to Deadline, actors James Norton (Happy Valley, Bob Marley: One Love) and Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones) will be joining the cast of the new drama series. The series was revealed to the public in March 2024, but there is no news on production updates.

Norton and Gleeson are joining in a pretty stacked cast. Previously announced cast members include Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes), Niamh McCormack (The Magic Flute), Emily Fairn (Black Mirror), Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air), Fionn O’Shea (Normal People), Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) and many more.

The series is inspired by the history behind the Guinness family, following the epic story unfolded by the massive European dynasty made famous by the beloved beer that the family brews. According to Deadline, the series is officially described as a tale “set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story reimagines the period immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness Brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.”

According to Deadline, series creator and director Steven Knight (Serenity, Hummingbird) expressed his excitement for this project.

“I am thrilled that we have such an exceptional cast and such an exceptional team to tell this story inspired by an exceptional family,” he said following a readthrough with the series’ cast according to Deadline.

Anne Mensah, Netflix’s VP of UK Content, also expressed her excitement for the new series and praised Knight for the work that he would be doing on The House of Guinness.

“We are thrilled to be embarking on this epic and wondrous journey with our partners at Kudos,” she said according to Deadline. “Steve Knight’s scripts read like pages torn out of a classic novel, spinning the story of the four heirs to the Guinness fortune, and how their lives and loves are changed by it overnight. We cannot wait to see this story come to life through Tom Shankland’s inspired vision and his breathtaking cast.”
