Netflix's 'Stranger Things' Exclusively Releases Season Five Episode Titles For Its Anniversary Celebrations

This year’s edition of Stranger Things Day has begun with a piece of phenomenal news: Netflix has released the official episode titles for the fifth and last season of Stranger Things, Comicbook.com reports. The announcement was made early Wednesday morning, and the streamer has also confirmed that the fifth season will be released in 2025. An interesting detail about these episode titles is that some of them reference back to the disappearance of a famous main character from season one.

According to Comicbook.com, in the X (formerly Twitter) post embedded below, there are eight episodes in this upcoming season in total. The first one is called “The Crawl.” The second episode, the one that references the disappearance detail mentioned beforehand, is called “The Vanishing of [Redacted].” There will obviously be a character’s name at the end of that title, but Netflix has decided to keep it under wraps by blurring it out.

The second episode title that interested fans, according to Comicbook.com, seems like a callback to previous events that unfolded early in Stranger Things and made it what it is today, as stated beforehand. Named “The Vanishing of Will Byers,” this references when young Will disappeared back in the first season and Eleven was found in the woods at the same time. From then, fans know what went down and the group has gone to the Upside Down, as this dimension has haunted Will’s character ever since.

According to Comicbook.com, the next episode title that is haunting fans is the one for the series finale. With its title “The Rightside Up,” it seems to tease the final victory of the famous heroes against Vecna who, at the end of season four, was building an army to take over the world. Still, Netflix has kept the final season storyline under wraps and, as always, Stranger Things is known for offering exceptional plot twists…so it’s all a mystery.
