Netflix’s Shadow and Bone has revealed that Genya Safin, played by Daisy Head (Fallen, Wrong Turn), will return in season two, via TVLine. In a TVLine exclusive photo, Genya is seen caught in a heated discussion with Queen Tatiana, played by Georgia Reece (The Leading Man, Fierce Creatures).
Alongside Head and Reece, the series’ cast includes Jessie Mei Li (Last Night in Soho, Havoc), Archie Renaux (Morbius, Voyagers), Freddy Carter (Wonder Woman, Pennyworth), Amita Suman (Doctor Who, The Sandman), Kit Young (The School for Good and Evil, A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia franchise, Seventh Son), Danielle Galligan (Strangers in the Park, Pernicio), and Calahan Skogman (G.I. Jose).
The series follows an orphan mapmaker, Alina Starkov, as dark forces conspire against her when she unleashes an extraordinary power that could change the fate of her war-torn world. Season two picks up with Alina, played by Mei Li, on the run as she works to bring down the Shadow Fold and save Ravka from ruin, while commander of the Second Army and Shadow Summoner General Kirigan, played by Barnes, returns with a new terrifying and seemingly indestructible army of shadow monsters, according to TVLine. In order to stand a fighting chance, Aline and Malyen “Mal” Oretsev, played by Renaux, must gather powerful new allies and find two mythical creatures that will heighten their powers, via TVLine.
The first season of Shadow and Bone is available to stream on Netflix, and the second season will premiere on Thursday, March 16.
