Netflix’s Seven Seconds has officially announced their premiere date, and showed their first trailer for the crime drama show. It will be on Friday, February 23, 2018 on Netflix. The show, Seven Seconds, is based on a society that would rather be entertained than informed. The synopsis for the crime drama is that a white cop accidentally critically injuries a black teen. There is an attempt to cover it up, and there is a trial of the century because of it. Brenton Butler and his family’s life has changed forever because of this event. Seven Seconds shows the human stories behind the headlines. Racial tensions are high in this show. The meaning behind the name “Seven Seconds” can mean life or death.

As you can see the trailer opens with Regina King (two-time Emmy winner) facing a wide range of snow covered on blood. King is standing there shocked about what she is looking at, and her facial expression exemplifies exactly how she feels. The trailer ends with a wide shot of the scene with New York City and the Statue of Liberty in the background. The trailer also asks its audience, “How long does it take to bury the truth?” This short fifteen second trailer does its job to tease its audience.
