According to Deadline, the Netflix drama series, Poser, just added Sadie Stanley (47 Meters down: The Wreck, At The Gates) to its regular cast. Stanley will join previously announced cast members Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek, Black Mirror) and Daisy Jelley (How to Have Sex, Geek Girl). The creator is Lauren Iungerich (On My Block, Tough Cookie).
Deadline reports Poser is an eight-episode emotional thriller that centers around a toxic friendship between two former best friends. One of the friends is given a change to live their desired life. But she finds herself on a psychological journey of revenge, betrayal and heartbreak, eventually changing her life and those around her forever. Stanley will portray the beautiful Emmy Hunter who dreams of being the next “it girl.”
According to Deadline, Stanley first appeared in the Disney Channel’s 2019 film Kim Possible, and a reoccurring role in The Goldbergs which aired on ABC. She then landed a leading role in the 2023 series Cruel Summer that aired on ABC’s channel, Freeform. Other television credits include Dead To Me, a Netflix original show, and CBS’s Criminal Minds. Stanley also has numerous film credits including Karate Kid: Legends, The Sleepover, Let Us In, and Somewhere in Queens.
Deadline reports Stanley can be seen next in Pretty Babies, where she will be playing opposite Ashley Benson (Pledge Trip, Angry Neighbors), Emily Alyn Lind (We Are Liars, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), and Madelaine Petsch (The Strangers: Chapter 3, Hotel of the Holidays). Stanley is represented by Thruline Entertainment, Gersh, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, and Smelkinson.
Iungerich is not only the creator of Poser, but also the writer and showrunner of the drama. Deadline reports that Poser will be part of a deal that Lungerich and Jamie Dooner (Awkward, Webisodes, Boo, Bitch) hav with Netflix. Dooner is also one of the executive producers along with her production company, The Crazy Cat Lady Productions.
