The Daily Show’s Hasan Minhaj will be premiering his show on Netflix on October 28th. Titled Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, the show will “explore the modern cultural and political landscape with depth and sincerity. Each week, Minhaj will bring his unique comedic voice and storytelling skill to investigate the larger trends shaping our fragmented world.”
Minhaj was first hired on to The Daily Show in November 2014 by Jon Stewart. When Stewart left and Trevor Noah took over the show, Minhaj stayed on as a correspondent. Minhaj along with his sketch comedy group, Goatface will bring an array of different comedy to Comedy Central in a one-hour special. He is also starting a 16-city tour of North America titled Before the Storm, starting August 11th.
Minhaj is not only known for The Daily Show but for his comedy special on Netflix, Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King for which he won a Peabody Award and for hosting the 2017 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Minhaj will serve as executive producer of the series with co-creator Prashanth Venkataramanujam. Jim Margolis is an executive producer and showrunner. Other executive producers are Art & Industry’s Michelle Caputo and Shannon Hartman and Haven Entertainment’s Jennie Church-Cooper.
