Netflix’s live action series One Piece has released an inside look into its second season of the show. The second season will follow directly after the events of the first season where Luffy and crew of Straw Hats set sail into the Grand Line to find the treasure known as the “One Piece”.
The live action adaptation of the show is based off of the popular manga and anime series under the same name. Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), created the story following the journey of a pirate named Monkey D. Luffy, who with his friends would travel across the Grand Line to find the treasure known as the “One Piece.” The manga and anime have spanned over 1,000 chapters and episodes while the adaptation has amassed eight episodes in its first season.
Returning for season two are actors such as Iñaki Godoy (One Piece), Mackenyu (One Piece, Pacific Rim Uprising), Emily Rudd (One Piece, Fear Street), Jacob Romero (One Piece, Grey’s Anatomy), and Taz Skylar (One Piece). In the inside look for the second season, the cast expressed how thrilled they are to be part of this journey when it comes to the filming of season two.
According to the inside look, one of the writers of the show Joe Tracz (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, A Series of Unfortunate Events), mentions that every one or two episodes we will see the Straw Hats go to a new island where they will encounter new surprises and uncover new mysteries along the way.
The show has also been renewed for a third season where they have also selected an actor to play a fan favorite role. According to Deadline, the actor is Tony winner Cole Escola (Oh Mary!, At Home with Aunt Sedaris) who will be playing the fan favorite character known as Bon Clay.
The second season will be available to stream on March 10, 2026.
