As Eiichiro Oda (One Piece Film: Red, One Piece Film: Strong World) promised in the Netflix social media post a few days prior, there is another casting announcement for the second season of One Piece. On Thursday morning, Netflix released that the character of Nefertari Cobra will be portrayed by Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes, Covert Affairs), Comicbook.com reports exclusively, as seen in the X (formerly Twitter) post embedded below.

According to Comicbook.com, Ramamurthy will play the character who brings the Arabasta arc to life. The Straw Hats crew will have many issues with him, as seen in the anime. However, the casting is accurate to the anime character, and the character itself is followed by the famous fan-beloved pirate Crocodile, whose character will be spotlighted in future arcs.
If anyone is interested in seeing his portrayal of Cobra, Netflix’s One Piece has already begun production of the upcoming second season. According to Comicbook.com, the filming of the series started earlier this summer in Cape Town, South Africa. Previously, fans have been given new cast announcements, such as David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer, Dune) and Clive Russell (Game Of Thrones, Still Wakes The Deep). Netflix also released that Dr. Kureha will be played by Katey Sagal (The Big Bang Theory) and Mark Harelik (Jurassic Park III) as Dr. Hiruluk.
If anyone is interested in catching up on Netflix’s One Piece, the first season is available to stream on Netflix. The original anime series is also available on the same streaming platform, as new episodes of the most recent arc are released weekly. For whoever wants more information on the One Piece live-action, Comicbook.com has the official synopsis available to read below:
“As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer “Red-Haired” Shanks. But Luffy’s life changed when he accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber…at the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, still vowing to become the king of the pirates, Luffy sets out on his adventure…one guy alone in a rowboat, in search of the legendary “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world…”
As stated beforehand, the first season of One Piece is available to stream on Netflix.
