Netflix’s Lost in Space remake will premiere on April 13th. Netflix announced that they were remaking the series in 2015. Netflix wrote in a short description of the series, “The Robinson family, part of a highly trained mission to establish a new colony in space, is unexpectedly pulled off course, forcing them to crash-land on a lost planet.” Netflix also let NASA see the series 12 days ago. They were also able to get a decent stream up to the International Space Station for the six astronauts that are currently stationed there.
With the announcement of the release date Netflix also revealed a teaser trailer.
Based on the trailer the series itself takes place thirty years in the future. The Robinson family are headed to a colony in the Alpha Centauri system. The trailer also gave a nod to the original series by adding their theme song right before the family robot said, “Danger, Will Robinson!” This version of the series promises to be a modern retelling of the Robinson’s wayward mission.
Lost in Space is starring the Robinson family which include: scientist and mother Maureen (Molly Parker), father John (Toby Stephens), their daughters Judy (Taylor Russell) and Penny (Mina Sundwall), and their son Will (Max Jenkins).
