Netflix’s ‘Karate Kid’ Spinoff Series ‘Cobra Kai’ Gets Premiere Date & Teaser Trailer

Cobra Kai is back and bigger than ever. Netflix’s Karate Kid spinoff series Cobra Kai, having already been renewed for a fifth season, recently had its premiere date set for the aforementioned upcoming season, according to Deadline. The show’s new season also has a new teaser trailer which you can watch here:

The trailer above details the aftermath of the events of the Season four finale where Tory Nichols (played by Peyton List) became the champion of the All Valley Tournament after defeating Samantha LaRusso (played by Mary Mouser) and earning a pivotal win for Cobra Kai dojo. The end of the last season also shed some light on the fact that she actually hadn’t won, not without the cheating, at least. She learned of this in the final moments of last season when she overhears Terry Silver (played by Thomas Ian Griffith) admitting to rigging the results.

Season five also brings the return of an old fan favorite, Chozen (played by Yuji Okumoto), with the trailer showing him caught in-between rivals Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio) and Terry Silver. Also continuing from the last season is the reunion between Johnny Lawrence (played by Billy Zabka) and his son Robby Keene (played by Tanner Buchanan), who we see going on a journey to Mexico in search of Miguel Diaz (played by Xolo Maridueña).

Cobra Kai will premiere on September 9, as revealed in the trailer.
