Netflix’s ‘KAOS’ Releases Official Trailer

Netflix’s newest series, KAOS, has released its official trailer, Comicbook.com reports. The cast includes main lead Jeff Goldblum (Thor: Ragnarok, Jurassic Park) as Zeus, Janet McTeer (Ozark, Me Before You) as Hera, Nabhaan Rizwan (Station Eleven, Juice) as Dionysus, Cliff Curtis (Sunshine, The Dark Horse) as Poseidon, Aurora Perrineau (Prodigal Son, Truth Or Dare) as Riddy, Killian Scott (Love/Hate, Damnation) as Orpheus, Misia Butler (Kiss Me First, The School for Good and Evil) as Caneus and Leila Farzad (I Hate Suzie, The Decameron) as Ari.

According to Comicbook.com, the series focuses on the God of Thunder, Zeus, and involves the entire family of the Greek Gods of Olympus, who live in a modern environment. Zeus suddenly gets old, and decides to enjoy life. Meanwhile, the gods come in contact with different humans and bring them to Olympus, despite them probably being the reason behind Zeus’ downfall. If anyone is interested in watching the trailer, it is embedded below.

According to Comicbook.com, the official synopsis shares that “Zeus (Goldblum) has long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis sets in, setting him off on a dangerous, paranoid path. Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming – and starts to see signs of it everywhere.”

Continuing, via Comicbook.com, “Zeus’ once reliable brother, Hades, God of the Underworld, is secretly losing his grip on his dark dominion. There is a backlog of dead waiting to be processed and they are growing restless. Hera (McTeer), Queen of the Gods, exercises dominion on Earth — and over Zeus — in her own unique way. But her power and freedom become threatened by Zeus’ growing paranoia, and she is forced to act, while Zeus’ rebellious son, Dionysus, (Rizwan), is out of control and on course for a cosmic collision with his father.”

The official synopsis concludes, via Comicbook.com, that “On Earth people are aching for change, however Poseidon (Curtis), God of Sea, Storms and Earthquakes (and Horses) is more concerned with the size of his super-yacht and where the next party is at. The wellbeing of mere mortals is of little interest to him. Unfortunately for the Gods some of those mortals are beginning to realise this. These mortals – Riddy (Perrineau), Orpheus (Scott), Caneus (Butlerand Ari (Farzad– come from different walks of life and are all cosmically connected in the battle against Zeus. Each one has a very different role to play, any one of them may be destined to bring down the Gods.”

KAOS will be available to stream on Netflix on Aug. 29.
