The upcoming spy series for Netflix, entitled Glória, has announced the addition of actress Stephanie Vogt (Entourage, Strike Back) to its main cast, according to Deadline. The impending series will be a period thriller in the 1960s and comes from the writer Pedro Lopes (Liberdade 21) and will be overseen by director Tiago Guedes (Chorus, The Domain). Currently, it is unknown when the series will enter production for the streaming service, yet it is expected for a 2021 release permitting the show does not encounter any delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Glória will center on the Cold War era in the village of Glória do Ribatejo in Portugal. The series will center on the new CIA recruit and Harvard grad Anne O’Brien Wilson, portrayed by Vogt, in addition to João Vidal who has been recruited by the KGB in an effort to disrupt the American propaganda broadcast to eastern regions of the world in the small village. The series cast also includes the likes of Carolina Amaral (Sara, Terra Nova), Adriano Luz (Night Train to Lisbon), Joana Ribeiro (Prisioneira), Marcello Urgeghe (Blood of My Blood), Rafael Morais (White Lines), Leonor Silveira (The Cannibals), Miguel Nunes (Letters from War), and many more.
Vogt carries some past experience on television with the recurring role of the successful HBO comedy series Entourage as Liz for seven episodes. She additionally appeared in seven episodes in the Cinemax original series, Strike Back, in addition to the role of Daphne Pryce on E! original program, The Royals. Vogt has also appeared on the big screen with a feature role in the 2019 Fast & Furious spin-off film, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (Baywatch, Jumanji) and Jason Stratham (Snatch, The Italian Job).
