Netflix’s Geeked Week continued with exclusive first looks of popular genre series and films. According to Comicbook.com, the latest reveal was a teaser of the second season of Netflix original series, The Witcher. Based on the novels written by fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski (Season of Storms, Lady of the Lake), the show follows the exploits of a bewitched swordsman and a fulfilling prophecy involving a young girl. According to Comicbook.com, a full breakdown of the trailer was posted via Geeked Week’s Twitter account. The thread, which can be read at the end of this article, deduces certain facts about the upcoming season solely based on the images presented in the 12-second clip. The short video features Ciri, played by Freya Allan (Gunpowder Milkshake, The War of the Worlds), in what appears to be Kaer Morhen. Fans of the books and video games recognize this locale as having a prominent role in Ciri’s narrative. It is also the childhood home of main character Geralt, played by Henry Cavill (Man of Steel Enola Holmes). How the series will adapt the setting compared to its previous iterations has yet to be seen.

The video also features what looks to be two dueling swords, via Comicbook.com. These blades are readily recognized as belonging to Geralt which could signify Ciri will soon be trained to fight in the upcoming season. Not much else is known about season two other than the official synopsis:

“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. Comicbook.com reports no date has been set for the second season’s premiere. The show filmed throughout last year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and a minor injury to its main star.
