Netflix’s ‘Cursed’ Canceled After Debut Season

The Netflix series Cursed is seemingly true to its name, having been canceled by the network after just one season, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe series starred Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why), Gustaf Skarsgard (Vikings), Daniel Sharman (Medici), and Devin Terrell (Barry).

The fantasy drama was based on Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots) and Frank Miller’s (Sin City) graphic novel, which follows teenage sorceress Nimueh, played by Langford, as she joins forces with a mercenary named Arthur, played by Terrell, on a quest to save her people. The series made its debut in July 2020, generating just a 67 percent “fresh” average on Rotten Tomatoes with critical reviews.

News of this cancellation comes as the network has canceled several comedies this week, including The Crew, which followed a NASCAR crew chief and his team, is ending with its first season, Country Comfort, which followed a country singer-turned-nanny is also ending with its first season, while Mr. Iglesias, which featured stand-up comic Gabrial Iglesias (The Fluffy Movie) as a good-natured high school history teacher, is ending with part three, and Bonding which details the story of a New York graduate student who doubles as a dominatrix, is ending with season two.
