The second season of Netflix’s highly acclaimed sci-fi animated series Arcane, based entirely on the popular video game League of Legends, is debuting on the streaming platform on November 9. According to Comicbook, during this year’s Geeked Week, the streamer revealed that the conclusion of the series will be divided into three parts, with the first act set for November 9, act two for November 16 and the final act for November 23. A clip of the series has been revealed, showcasing an edgier version of Vi fighting against numerous opponents in a fighting ring. View the clip below.
According to Comicbook, the voices behind Vi and Jinx, Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye) and Ella Purnell (Fallout), revealed that there will be a new aftershow that will allow fans to “find out everything they need to know about each act” and would be called Afterglow.Arcane, created by Christian Linke (Imagine Dragons x J.I.D: Enemy) and Alex Yee (Arcane: Bridging the Rift), has been described as being one of Netflix’s successful animated series and is executively produced by Linke, Marc Merrill and Brandon Beck (The Crystal Maze). Other members that will be returning for the second season are Katie Leung (The Wheel of Time) as Caitlin, Reed Shannon (The Wilds) as Ekko and Mick Wingert (Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny) as Heimerdinger.
According to Comicbook, in June, Linke stated, “The story of Arcane wraps up with the second season. Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey, and our partnership with the wonderful animation studio in Paris called Fortiche.” This indicates that the prospect of developing a spinoff series within the franchise exists in the future.
This clip, along with the other footage, gives fans a glimpse into the upcoming battle between the citizens of Piltover and Zaun and will surely keep them on the edge of their seats. While fans await further information on the three-part second season, the entire first season of Arcane is available to rewatch on Netflix.
