Netflix will add more horror series to its streamer courtesy of AMC. According to Comicbook, What’s on Netflix reports Preacher, Fear the Walking Dead, and Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire will arrive on the platform sometime this year. While there are no specifics on their duration, there is speculation the licensing arrangement is similar to last year’s between AMC and Max.
Last fall, Max featured several AMC titles on its platform for limited time, including the first season of Interview with the Vampire, all seasons of the UK-based series Gangs of London and Discovery of Witches, the period crime drama Dark Winds, the first seven seasons of Fear the Walking Dead, and the unscripted Ride with Norman Reedus. According to Comicbook, Netflix currently houses AMC’s twisted queer caper, Killing Eve, and the long-running zombie saga, The Walking Dead. Those series are scheduled through October 2025 and 2027, respectively. The streamer also has Breaking Bad and its critically acclaimed prequel series, Better Call Saul.
For those unfamiliar with the new titles coming to the land of Tudum, here is a brief synopsis of each. Preacher premiered in 2016 and starred Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double, Mama Mia: Here We Go Again) as brazen, rehabilitated outlaw Jesse Custer. Fulfilling his deceased father’s wish, Custer takes over the dead man’s church only to become possessed by an abominable force, placing him in the crosshairs of saints and sinners bent on the world’s destruction. Based on a graphic novel, the series ran four seasons and starred Ruth Negga (Passing, Loving) and Joseph Gilgun (Brassic, Misfits).
Fear the Walking Dead was the first spinoff series in the franchise and examined the zombie outbreak on the West Coast. Viewers followed the rapidly changing world through the eyes of a single family and the colorful characters they met on their trek for survival. The show, which wrapped its final season last year, starred Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, The Good Nurse), Lennie James (Save Me, Line of Duty) Colman Domingo (Sing Sing, Euphoria), and Alycia-Debnam Carey (The 100, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart).
Finally, the newest series in the bunch belongs to AMC’s Immortal Universe, the aptly titled name for the network’s adaptation of late author Anne Rice’s horror novels. Interview with the Vampire reimagines Louis de Pointe du Lac’s sordid tale in 1920s New Orleans with Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones, Broadchurch) in the titular role. He’s joined by Sam Reid’s (Belle, The Newsreader) Lestat de Lioncourt and Eric Bogosian’s (Reptile, Uncut Gems) mortal journalist, Daniel Molloy. The series is currently in its second season, leaving the southern gothic French Quarter for war-torn Europe in 1940s Paris.
The Immortal Universe also includes Mayfair Witches and an upcoming third series exploring the faction of supernatural hunters, the Talamasca. The latter was greenlit earlier this week while season two of Mayfair Witches is set for a 2025 premiere.
All these series are available to stream on AMC+, with new episodes of Interview with The Vampire arriving at 9 p.m. ET on Sundays on AMC.
