Whether you vote for your favorite show, or a season of a show that you watched and didn’t like, Netflix has allowed you to rate it, movies and more. Now, according to a Netflix press release, a new live-voting feature allows viewers to interact with the content their watching.
Other than the regular Netflix voting after watching a film or series, the streamer has introduced a new kind of voting called, Live Voting. According to the Netflix news release ,the voting started January 20 with the 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT premiere of Netflix’s rebooted Star Search. This show and other select titles will use the real-time voting so viewers can be a part of the app that they love.
Star Search is now is available with live events. When a contestant comes on the screen to perform, you can use your remote to vote whether their performance is adequate or if it is subpar. Each week will have new performers and old ones will come back to win viewers hearts, all due to the TV audience’s votes.
While watching live events on a mobile device, on TV, or streaming device, real-time voting will be offered at certain times during the show to vote. According to Netflix, at the end of the show or at random times, viewers will get the results of their voting. During the live voting, viewers cannot fast forward or rewind like one can when watching a show.. If the live window is missed, one can vote on the next time with no penalty. However, on a computer or web browser, the real-time voting is not available. An early voting run took place with Dinner Time Live With David Chang, and members loved how they could easily vote within series right from their remotes and mobile devices.
