The series is Netflix’s second African original series to Queen Sono, starring Pearl Thusi (Catching Feelings), which was released in February and was just recently renewed for a second season in April, via UPI.
Blood & Water has already been compared to certain popular teen shows. It is described as maintaining the glitz and glam of Gossip Girl, the drama and mystery of Elite, and even the action of Riverdale. The series was directed by South African director Nosipho Dumiso (Nommer 37) and the six-episode first season will be available to stream on Netflix on May 20, according to UPI.
In the meantime, the season 1 trailer can be watched below.
