

Netflix has just revealed the trailer and release date for the new drama series The Waterfront. The series is the latest venture from creator Kevin Williamson (Dawson’s Creek, The Vampire Diaries), according to TVLine.
The show follows a powerful North Carolina family, the Buckleys, who run a once successful fishing and restaurant empire. The official logline reads, “But their fishing empire has started to crumble as patriarch Harlan Buckley recovers from two heart attacks and his wife Belle and son Cane venture into the deep end to keep the family businesses afloat. As their attempts spiral out of control and into treacherous waters, Harlan steps back in to take command,” via TVLine.
Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Fight Club) stars as the family patriarch, Harlan Buckley. Maria Bello (A History of Violence, NCIS) portrays Harlan’s wife, Belle. Jake Weary (Animal Kingdom, It Follows) will assume the role of Harlan’s son, Cane. Melissa Benoist (Supergirl, Whiplash) will play Harlan’s recovering addict daughter, Bree.
In addition, TVLine reports The Waterfront will also star Rafael L. Silva (9-1-1: Lone Star, Madam Secretary), Humberly González (Ginny & Georgia, In the Dark), Danielle Campbell (The Originals, Tell Me a Story) and Brady Hepner (FBI: International, The Black Phone), according to TVLine. The show will also feature several prominent guest stars including Topher Grace (In Good Company, Spider-Man 3), Dave Annable (Lioness, Yellowstone), Michael Gaston (The Leftovers, The Man in the High Castle), Gerardo Celasco (Devil in Ohio, Swimming with Sharks) and Zach Roerig (The Vampire Diaries, As the World Turns).
Williamson will reportedly act as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Ben Fast (Sick, The Exorcism), Michael Narducci (Superman & Lois, The Originals) and Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood, You) will join Williamson as executive producers, according to TVLine.
The Waterfront will be available to stream on Netflix, June 19, 2025.
