Days before its season three launch, Outer Banks has already been renewed for a season four. News of the renewal was announced at a Netflix-run fan event called Poguelandia, in Huntington Beach, California, where the entire main cast was present. This includes Chase Stokes (Tell Me Your Secrets, Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets), Madelyn Cline (Glass Onion, This Is the Night), Madison Bailey (Black Lightning, Discarded Things), Jonathan Daviss (Do Revenge, Age of Summer), Carlacia Grant (Greenleaf, Game of Silence), Rudy Pankow (Space Waves, Uncharted), Austin North (I Didn’t Do It, All Night), and Drew Starkey (Hellraiser, Embattled). Respectively, they portray John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, Cleo, JJ, Topper, and Rafe.

Creators, showrunners, and executive producers Jonas and Josh Pate (Surface, Deceiver), and Shannon Burke (Abandon, Syriana), said of the renewal: “Seeing Poguelandia come to life was nothing short of spectacular. The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime, and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into season four of Outer Banks. Thank you to Netflix, our cast, and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen,” via Deadline.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “Once John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo find a way off the deserted island they were stranded on at the end of season 2, they’re going to set out on a brand new treasure hunt in season 3 that is bigger, more important, and riskier than anything they’ve faced before… a big part of season 3 is how the Pogues learn that the treasure hunts they’ve been on already were only a small part of the ultimate prize: El Dorado, the mythical lost city of gold.”
Season three of Outer Banks will premiere on February 23rd, exclusively on Netflix. The official trailer is available below.
