Netflix Renewed ‘Night Agent’ For Season Four, Scheduled to Film In LA

According to Deadline, Netflix has renewed a fourth season for the political action thriller, The Night Agent. The Night Agent stars Gabriel Basso (The Strangers: Chapter 3, A House of Dynamite). The thriller will be shooting in Los Angeles after the first two seasons that were filmed in New York, then in Canada.

Deadline caught Shawn Ryan’s (Gone Hollywood, American Hostage) statement, who is the executive producer, showrunner and the series creator: “It’s been a wild ride filming The Night Agent in five countries across three continents to this point and we’re so thrilled that the adventures of Peter Sutherland will continue into Season4.” Ryan continues, ” Our writers, our cast and out crew stand ready to answer the call to bring our incredible fans even more twists, turns and thrills.”

Officially, Deadline reports that The Night Agent has filmed in six countries so far. Season one was filmed in Canada; season two up to the present was in the US. Season two also took place in Thailand, while season three was filmed in Türkiye, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Season three was released on February 19 of this year, with the renewal coming just two weeks after.Deadline relays that Netflix  Netflix wanted to see the numbers of season three without Luciane Bachanan (Lea Tupu’ango/Mother Tongue, under the Vines) playing opposite of Basso. Basso portrays the character Peter Sutherland, known as the night agent. During season three, Sutherland is sent to Istanbul to track down a young Treasury Agent who fled into the country with government information after the killing of his boss. This will be the start of events with Peter working with a journalist played by Genesis Rodrigues (Lioness, Moose Jaws).

According to Deadline, the third season’s opening weekend got the number two spot on Netflix’s weekly English ranking. On February 16, it came in with 8.4 million views. In comparison, season two had the number one spot with 13.9 million views, and season one debuted with a beginning 5 million before tallying 21 million across its debut weekend. The Night Agent’s first season remains on the top ten list of Netflix’s English-speaking shows with 98.2 million views in its first 90 days.
