

According to Deadline, the streamer giant, Netflix gave the green light for a second season of the reboot of ‘Little House On The Prairie’. The original series is based off of a series of books written by Laura Ingall Wilder. Alice Halsey (Days of Our Lives, Kindergarten: The Musical) stars as Laura Ingall, Skywalker Hughes (Blues Clues & You, Ordinary Angels) protrayes Mary Ingall and Luke Bracey (The Artful Dodger, One True Loves) as Pa and Crosby Fitzgerald (Sorry For Your Loss, Palm Royale) as Ma. These five actors who makes up the cast of the iconic American family who lives out West in a log cabin that Pa built.
Deadline also noted the amazing producing team that is responsible for the reboot. The original series, Little House On The Prairie ran on NBC for nine seasons starting in 1974, CBS studios is producing the reboot. Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Housemaid, The Crossing) will be the show runner as well as the executive producer along side of Joy Gorman Wettles (Eyes on the Prize: Hollowed Ground, 13 Reasons Why), Trip Friendly (Little House on the Prairie: The Legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder), Dana Fox (Wicked: For Good, A Minecraft Movie) and Susanna Fogel (While You Were Breeding, A Small Light).
Sonnenshine said in a statement to Deadline, “I’m incredibly gratful to our wonderful cast and crew, who put their hearts and hard work into making our first season come alive. We can’t wait to share this new adaptation of the Little House books with the world, and we’re thrilled that Netflix is giving us the opportunity to continue the story.”
Deadline also noted that the head of Netflix’s US and Canada scripted series, Jinny Howe added, ” We are delighted to renew this beautiful reimagining of Little House On The Prairie for a second season ahead of its Netflix debut. The exceptional work by Rebecca Sonnenshine and the entire cast and crew on Season 1 has established a rich foundation of storytelling for years to come. With its hopeful spirit and emotional authenticity, we’re confident that Little House will deliver even more of what fans truly love.”
Netflix is scheduled to launch the premiere on July 9, 2026 according to Deadline.
