Netflix released an official trailer for its upcoming series entitled History of Swear Words on December 21, Variety reports. Hosted by Nicolas Cage (Face/Off), the series will consider the origins of swear words through their usage in pop culture, the social implications of swearing, as well as their cultural impact.
The trailer opens up with Cage screaming an elongated “f*ck,” which is most likely an allusion to his role in a scene in the 1993 film Deadfall. The series will feature celebrity guests, including Joel Kim Booster (Sunnyside), DeRay Davis (Hip Hop Squares), singer Open Mike Eagle, Nikki Glaser (Not Safe with Nikki Glaser), Patti Harrison (The Tonight Show), and London Hughes (Don’t Hate the Playaz), among others. Alongside History of Swear Words Cage is slated to be involved in a scripted dramatized adaptation of Netflix’s Tiger King, which was initially released earlier this year. He will be playing the role of Joe Exotic.
The six-episode series will be released to Netflix on January 5. The trailer can be watched below.
