Netflix released the official trailer of Cobra Kai season six, part two, a month before its premiere, Comicbook.com reports. This series has been a huge success for Netflix, but at the beginning of last year, the streamer announced that this season would be the last, and the first part would premiere at the beginning of this year. Currently, two parts are left, with the second having a trailer and release date embedded below.
In an exclusive statement written by Cobra Kai executive producers Josh Heald (Obliterated, Plan B), Jon Hurwitz (American Reunion, American Pie 5) and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar Go to Amsterdam, A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas), announcing that the series is coming to an end, stated the following via Comicbook.com, “Reacquainting the world with The Karate Kid universe has been our humble honor. Making Cobra Kai has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen (The Fifth Element, The Karate Kid III), John Avildsen (The Karate Kid, Rocky), Jerry Weintraub (The Karate Kid Part II, Pure Country), and all the amazing original cast members. It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing new generations of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.”
“Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined. So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that were are able to announce that achievement,” the statement continues via Comicbook.com.
Furthermore, according to Comicbook.com, there is a sixth Karate Kid movie upcoming next year. Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid, Karate Kid II) and Jackie Chan’s (Shanghai Noon, Who Am I?) original characters will interact for the first time ever. At the beginning of this month, Sony Pictures shared the title, which is Karate Kid: Legends. The film will star Ben Wang (American Born Chinese), who will portray the new Karate Kid.
Karate Kid: Legends, according to Comicbook.com, will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F***ing World, I’m Not Okay with This). The scriptwriter for this movie is Rob Lieber (Peter Rabbit, Alexander and the Terrible).
Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 is set to premiere on Nov. 15 on Netflix. Karate Kid: Legends is set to release in theaters on May 30, 2025.
