Netflix’s upcoming supernatural thriller, Chambers, recently released a collection of teaser images from it’s first season via Deadline. The hour long drama, helms from screenwriter and director Stephen Gaghan and the entertainment company, Super Deluxe. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon is credited as directing the pilot.
Also released, was the series official log line which reads: “A young heart attack survivor becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister.”
Action star Uma Thurman and the multi-talented Tony Goldwyn are set to play Chambers co-leads, with newcomer Sivan Alyra Rose in the designated role of the young female heart attack survivor. The series will also star Nicholas Galitzine (Share, Handsome Devil), Lilliya Reid (Vienna, The Fantomes), Lilli Kay (Paterno, Napoli), Sarah Mezzanotte (The Wolves, Six Degrees of Separation), and Simone Simpson (Black Lightning).
Created and written by Leah Rachel, who also executive produces the show through production company, Super Emotional, the series has been described as taking place in “a mystic, New Age pocket of Arizona. A psychological horror story that explores the different ways we metabolize trauma… A grounded human story, that eventually pivots into something far more strange and fucked up than you were expecting.”
Gaghan, well-known for writing Steven Soderbergh’s screenplay for the film Traffic, will executive produce Chambers in partnership with Rachel. As well as, Wolfgang Hammer and Winnie Kemp in partnership with Super Deluxe.
