The premiere of season two of Shadow and Bone is only week away and today Netflix released a new clip about the Crows via Comicbook. The new season is set to drop on March 16 and will pick up where the last episode left off.
According to Comicbook, the new season will follow Alina Starkov, played by Jessie Mei Li (Last Night in Soho, All About Eve), as she tries to find more amplifiers so that she is powerful enough to destroy the Fold and defeat General Kirigan aka the Darkling, played by Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Punisher). During her quest, Alina will count on the assistance of her childhood best friend Mal Oretsev, played by Archie Renaux (Morbius, Voyagers), as well as the Crows, led by Kaz Brekker, played by Freddy Carter (Free Rein, Pennyworth). In the first season, the Crows were on a mission to kidnap Alina, the Sun Summoner, but they realize their mistake and band together with the Ravkans to fight against the Darkling.
While the Crows started as a tight-knit trio, they will expand their ranks in the second season of Shadow and Bone. In the new clip, the audience gets to see the Crows meet up with their newest member, Wylan Hendricks played by Jack Wolfe (The Witcher, Hetty Feather), the Crows’ new demolitions man. Jesper Fahey, played by Kit Young (The School for Good and Evil, The Origin), questions Wylan’s ability but Kaz assures him that Wylan is the right person for the job. In comes Inej Ghafa, played by Amita Suman (The Outpost, The Sandman), with another new member of the Crows, a Grisha Heartrender who introduces herself as Nina Zenik, played by Danielle Galligan (Lakelands, The Great). Watch the new clip below.
Other cast members returning for the second season are Daisy Head (Harlots, Wrong Turn) as Genya Safin, Alina’s closest Grisha friend; Lewis Tan (Deadpool 2, Mortal Kombat) making his debut as Tolya Yul-Bataar, a supporter of the Sun Summoner; Anna Leong Brophy (Traces, Last Tango in Halifax) on her first appearance as Tamar Kir-Bataar, a trained warrior whose mission is to protect Alina; Patrick Gibson (Before We Die, The OA) stars as Nikolai Lantsov; and newcomer Callahan Skogman will return as the Fjerdan Grisha hunter Matthias Helvar.
The new season of Shadow and Bone will premiere on March 16 exclusively on Netflix. The first season of the show is available on the streaming platform.
