The Pogues are back and starting the hunt for a new piece of treasure: Blackbeard’s treasure. Today, Netflix released the first teaser for Outer Banks season four on their YouTube. The teaser is available below:
Starring Chase Stokes (One of Us Is Lying, Uglies), Madelyn Cline (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Stranger Things), Madison Bailey (American Horror Stories, Black Lightning), Jonathan Daviss (Do Revenge, Age of Summer), Rudy Pankow (Uncharted, The Crusades), and Carlacia Grant (Game of Silence, Greenleaf), Outer Banks follows a group of treasure hunting teens living in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In the first three seasons of the Netflix original series, Stokes’ John B recruits his friends to help find a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance.
Season three of Outer Banks seemingly concluded the show’s overarching storyline with the Pogues discovering the lost city of El Dorado and reuniting John B with his missing father. However, as John B says in the season four teaser, “That’s where the story should have ended, but really it was just the beginning.”
“After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a ‘normal’ life,” reads the show’s synopsis via The Hollywood Reporter. “They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed ‘Poguelandia 2.0,’ where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the ‘G’ game for a whole new adventure. But before they know it, they’re well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present and future – who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?”
Unlike previous seasons of the show, Outer Banks season four will release in two parts. The first five episodes will release on Netflix on October 10, and the second five will premier a month later on November 7.
