Netflix has released the musical final season trailer for Dear White People: Vol. 4, which will premiere on September 22, according to Variety. While a portion of the final season is set to take place during the characters’ senior year of college, the trailer revealed that the other half will be set in the future.
Taking place on the predominantly white campus of Winchester University, the series – an extension of the film of the same name – follows Sam White, played by Logan Browning (Bratz), as she initiates a radio show entitled “Dear White People” that aims to discuss issues of race, class, and sexuality surrounding people of color at the university. The trailer shows Sam and Lionel Higgins, played by DeRon Horton (American Horror Story), reminiscing over their senior year, specifically when they participated in a 90s-themes musical entitled “The Varsity Show.”
Alongside Browning and Horton, the series stars Antoinette Robertson (Late Bloomer), Ashley Blaine Featherson (Hello Cupid), and John Patrick Amedori (Timer). Dear White People debuted on Netflix in 2017 and has maintained its status as a pertinent and significant show for the times. The final season of Dear White People will premiere on Netflix in mid-September. Meanwhile, the final season’s trailer is available to watch below.
