Cobra Kai season three is only a month away and Netflix has released a trailer giving fans a hint of what’s to come, according to Comicbook. The original announcement for season three revealed that Ralph Macchio’s character Danny La Russo is set to travel to Japan to connect with the roots of his old master Mr. Miyagi. The cast of the show will reunite with a few familiar faces from the Karate Kid franchise. Tamlyn Tomita will be reprising her role as Kumiko and Yuji Okumoto will be returning as the highly trained Chozen. Danny and Chozen haven’t squared off since Karate Kid Part II released in 1986.
The climax of Karate Kid Part II takes place when Chozen forces Danny into a fight to the death by threatening Kumiko’s life. Based on the footage from the trailer fans will be able to see them spar in another bout. The reason behind their antagonistic behavior still remains a mystery. Is Chozen looking to regain some lost honor? Or perhaps this fight is introducing an entirely new element into their rivalry. Fans will have to wait and see when the third season comes out.
Pertaining to the young adults of the series, season three of Kobra Kai will revolve around the aftermath of the school wide fight that took place at the end of season two. Tanner Buchanan’s character Robby Keene took the fight too far in the heat of the moment and kicked Miguel who’s played by Xolo Mariduena, down the opening of a two-story staircase. Miguel lands on one of the handrails and is rushed to the hospital because of his injuries. With boiling rivalries everywhere and personal vendetta’s culminating, there are sure to be more action-packed fights in this shows future.
