Netflix has just released the new trailer for its upcoming comedy Space Force starring Steve Carrell, according to Hollywood Reporter. This role adds to Carell’s return to TV following with his recent contributions on Apple TV+’s The Morning Show. Carell stars in Space Force as Mark Naird, a man who’s dreams of running the Air Force are crushed when the government decides to launch a new branch of the military.
Netflix gave this show a Netflix gave the show a straight-to-series order in January 2019, according to Hollywood Reporter. The show, co-created by Carell, Greg Daniels (The Office) and produced by Howard Klein (The Office), was formed after hearing President Trump’s June 2018 plan to extend the military to include a branch focused on space.
Space Force also features many recognizable names, including Lisa Kudrow (Friends) as Naird’s wife Maggie, Diana Silvers (Booksmart) as Naird’s daughter, Jane Lynch (Glee), Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation), John Malkovich (Rounders), Tawny Newsome (Brockmire), Jimmy O. Yang (Silicon Valley), Noah Emmerich (The Truman Show), Alex Sparrow (Unreal) and Don Lake (Zootopia), to form quite the exciting cast.
The trailer, already #2 trending on YouTube, shows a series of chaotic events as Naird (Carell) takes charge of Space Force, as employees and other prospects are unsure of his ability to succeed.
