According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Ferrell (Will & Harper, Blades of Glory) will be creating and staring in a new Netflix TV comedy series titled GOLF. The series is co-created by Ferrell, Ramy Youssef (Ramy, Mr.Robot), and Josh Rabinowitz (Babes, Broad City). Youssef will also be starring in the new series alongside Ferrell. The streamer has picked up the first season of the series for a total of ten episodes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the new comedy series, Ferrell will be playing the role of a fictional golf legend. Currently, Youssef’s character role in the series is still being kept under wraps. The streamer has also stated that the title of the series should be fully capitalized. Youssef and Rabinowitz will also be serving as showrunners as well as executive producers on the series. Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum (Booksmart), and Alix Taylor (Feast, Night of the Haunted) for Gloria Sanchez Productions will also be executive producing the series. Rian Johnson (Knives Out, Looper), Ram Bergman (Glass Onion, Brick) and Nena Rodrigue (Poker Face, 3 Body Problem) will executive produce for T-Street, while Andy Campagna (The Losers, Friday Night Lights) will executive produce for Cairo Cowboy.
This will be Ferrell’s biggest scripted series role to date. He is known for many different roles in different shows and movies. He is best known for starring in films such as Elf, Talladega Nights, Zoolander, Daddy’s Home, and Step Brothers. He has recently appeared in films such as Barbie and The Shrink Next Door.
Ferrell has also won five Primetime Emmy Awards for his work as a producer on the HBO drama Succession. He is also known for being a producer on many projects as well as being involved in the theatrical world of Broadway plays.
