Netflix Limited Series ‘The Perfect Couple’ Adds Omar Epps

The star-studded cast of Netflix’s limited series The Perfect Couple has added Omar Epps (Shooter, Resurrection), according to Deadline. The series is a six-episode murder mystery drama based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Elin Hilderbrand (28 Summers, Silver Girl). Epps will play Chief of Police, Dan Carter.

With Epps, the series stars Eve Hewson (The Knick, The Luminaries), Jack Reynor (Sing Street, Midsommar), Dakota Fanning (Coraline, Uptown Girls), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus, The Bold Type), Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies, Top of the Lake), and Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan, Scream).

The series follows Amelia Sacks, who is marrying into one of Nantucket’s wealthiest families. Her disapproving mother-in-law is Greer Garrison Winbury, a famous novelist, who has been planning the extravagant wedding. The wedding is expected to be perfect, until a body is found on the beach, causing secrets to come to light and making everyone a suspect.

The show is produced by the Jackal Group and 21 Laps. Jenna Lamia (Resident Alien, Legend Quest) is the showrunner and executive produces with Josh Barry (Salem, Shadow and Bone) and Shawn Levy (Deadpool 3, Night at the Museum) from 21 Laps, Hend Baghdady (Axe Cop, Monarch)and Gail Berman (Elvis, The Addams Family) from the Jackal Group, Kidman and Per Saari (Rabbit Hole, Monte Carlo) from Blossom Films, Hilderbrand, and director Susanne Bier (In a Better World, Bird Box).

Epps is a three-time NAACP Award winner and is best known for starring in Fox’s House with Hugh Laurie. He is represented by Teller, CAA, Jacobson, and Untitled Entertainment and Hansen.
