Deadline has exclusively reported that the new season of A Man On The Inside will see the addition of Jackée Harry (Days of Our Lives, The Wrong Marriage). The show was quickly renewed by Netflix after debuting on the top of the charts and receiving a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Deadline reports that the show revolves around Ted Danson’s (Cheers, The Good Place) character, Charles, who is a retiree who gains a new lease on life and begins to work as a mole in a secret investigation. The show is created by Michael Schur (The Good Place, Parks and Recreation), who is also the executive producer.
Before Harry began her career as an actress, she was a history teacher at Brooklyn Technical High School. This may be a hint at her role in the upcoming season, which Deadline confirms is being kept under wraps, as it has been announced that Danson will be going undercover at a Liberal Arts College this time. The show is chronological and will feature Danson in a new undercover role each season.
According to her bio, Harry is most well-known for her role on the 90s ABC/WB sitcom Sister Act as the loving yet take-no-prisoners adoptive mother of twin sisters Tia and Tamera. The role helped to springboard Harry’s career, gaining her a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series two years in a row. Not to mention, she played before sold-out audiences nationwide in a play titled The Clean Up Woman. The play was known as one of the highest-grossing gospel stage plays of all time.
Harry is also quite the philanthropist; she has been a spokesperson for the Thurgood Marshal Scholarship Fund and a Global Ambassador for the Women’s International Center. In 2010, she was even given the “Woman of Substance” award by the National Congress of Black Women.
