According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has greenlit Nick Kroll’s (Big Mouth, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie) new comedy series A Hundred Percent, which will include a top-notch cast. The series will also have Max Joseph (We Are Your Friends, 15 Minutes of Shame), creator of Catfish, as an executive producer.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Kroll is joined on the series by Jason Mantzoukas (The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Sam Richardson (The Afterparty, Hocus Pocus 2), Vanessa Bayer (Office Christmas Party, I Love That for You) and many others to be announced later. Gabe Liedman (Never Have I Ever, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies) will be serving as showrunner for A Hundred Percent. Kroll is set to write for the series alongside Liedman, the two will executive produce with Joseph and Alex Plapinger (Two Pink Doors, The Legend of Ochi). Kroll and Liedman are known for co-creating the Netflix animated original series Big Mouth, which runs for eight seasons.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is a half-hour comedy that follows a group of friends working inside the Thought Leader industrial complex, as described by Netflix. Although their books, podcasts and morning routines seem perfect and show us how to live our lives in a more perfect way, the group is most definitely far from perfect.
“Picture me doing the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders’ ‘Thunderstruck’ flawlessly right now because that’s how I feel,” Liedman said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter, presumably between kick lines. “This team, Netflix and this cast?! I feel especially lucky to be working with Nick again, and I promise to do my best to bring you all something nuts to watch very soon.”
“I am thrilled to make this show with Gabe and this insane cast,” Kroll said via The Hollywood Reporter,. “I can’t wait to explore this high-functioning group of friends who endeavor to live their weird lives!”
