On August 26, Netflix released the below sneek peek of what audiences can look forward to in the second part of the second season of the hit series Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega (The Fallout, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice). The video gives audience a taste test of the suspense they’ll be experiencing watching Season Two’s second part.

Co-creators of the show, Alfred Gough (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Smallville) and Miles Millar (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Smallville), note that a large part of the show is the “red herring” concept, meaning any of the characters seems like a suspect, even when they’re not guilty. Furthermore, the co-creators explain that their choice to end the fourth episode on such a cliffhanger came from the fact that they had already planned to split the second season into two parts.

“We like the idea of dividing the season into two,” Gough says. Millar adds on, “but if you’re gonna split it, the fourth episode, you have to land something special.”

The sneak peek also expands on a huge reveal made earlier this month in a teaser released on August 14, unveiling the fact that Principal Larissa Weems is revealed to make her return to Wednesday. The sneek peek continues on the fact that Weems has become Wednesday’s new spirit guide, and Wednesday herself still can’t believe it. Gough and Millar also reveal in the video that Weems’ return was not a planned thing.

“Nobody in our world is truly dead dead,” Gough teases.

“It wasn’t something that we’d planned from Season One,” Millar reveals, “but audiences fell in love with that relationship [between Wednesday and Weems].”

All episodes of the first half of Season Two are streaming on Netflix. The second half premieres on September 3.

“Everything is bigger,” Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones, Severance), who plays Weems, says at the end of the video. “Fans can look forward to more.”
