The Netflix original series Criminal: UK has released its second season trailer and displays Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) as a part of the program’s cast, according to Screen Rant. Created by Jim Field Smith (Stag, She’s Out of My League) and George Kay (Killing Eve, The Hour), the Netflix series is an anthology series that released its first installment in 2019 composed of 12 episodes.
The outline for the show is a twelve-episode series with three episodes filmed and set in four different locations: Spain (Criminal: Spain), France (Criminal: France), Germany (Criminal: Germany), and the UK. The series is overseen by the production company Idiotlamp Productions and is executive produced by Field Smith, Kay, and José Luis Escolar (Cloud Atlas, The Matrix 4). Currently, the UK version of the show is the only announced component that is set to return for a second installment.
Criminal: UK centers on a police interrogation room and navigates the truths and lies of the suspect through the lens of the London police officers working the case at hand. The first season of the UK rendition featured the likes of David Tennant (Broadchurch), Youssef Kerkour (Home, Dracula), and Hayley Atwell (The Duchess, Captain America: The First Avenger).
In season two, Harington will be joining the cast as one of the suspects for the cast that the London police officers have to tackle. This role marks the actor’s return to television merely a year and a half after the finale of HBO’s epic fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. Harington will be joined in season two of Criminal: UK by the likes of Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls), Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), and Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe, Divorce). The police officers of season one will be returning for the second installment which included Katherine Kelly (Mr Selfridge, Coronation Street), Shubham Saraf (Bodyguard), and Lee Ingleby (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban).
