Deadline reports that Netflix has cast Camila Morrone (The Night Manager, Love Advent) and Adam DiMarco (The Good Doctor, The Order) to star in their upcoming show, Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen. Last month, Deadline revealed that the duo were in negotiations for the horror-drama series, which hails from Stranger Things creators the Duffer brothers (The Grounded, Wayward Pines) and Hilary Leavitt (Killing Eve, The Boroughs) via their Upside Down Pictures’ overall deal with Netflix.
Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen is described as an “atmospheric horror series.” Set at a wedding, it follows a bride and groom, portrayed by Morrone and DiMarco, in the week leading up to their ill-fated nuptials. That’s not a spoiler; just refer back to the title…
Haley Z. Boston (Hunters, Brand New Cherry Flavor), who created the show, will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Emmy nominee Weronika Tofilska (Baby Reindeer, His Dark Materials) will direct four episodes and executive produce. The Duffer brothers and Leavitt will executive produce alongside Andrea Sperling (I Love Dick, The Skinny) via her overall deal with Netflix.
Morrone earned an Emmy nomination for Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six. She recently played the title role in the movie Marmalade and will next be seen in the second season of The Night Manager. She is represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
DiMarco is known for his role as Albie in the second season of HBO’s The White Lotus. He will next be seen in the Prime Video series Overcompensating. DiMarco is represented by UTA, Characters Talent Agency and Canopy Media Partners.
