Netflix is bringing the band back together. According to Deadline, Netflix is developing an anime series based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels. The graphic novel had previously been adapted into a movie in 2010 starring Michael Cera (Superbad, Juno). Part of the return of the slacker-musician is that the original cast from the movie is coming back to voice their iconic characters.
In the movie, Cera plays Scott Pilgrim who is part of a garage band. Then he falls in love with Ramona, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Kate, Birds of Prey), but before dating her he has to defeat her seven previous lovers.

The author and artist of the graphic novels, Bryan Lee O’Malley (Seconds, Lost at Sea), and BenDavid Grabinski (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Happily), will serve as executive producers, writers, and showrunners of the new Scott Pilgrim anime. Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Ant-Man), the director, co-writer, and producer of the 2010 movie, will work on the anime show as an executive producer.
