This May, the highly anticipated new series from Power creator, Courtney A. Kemp, arrives on Netflix. The crime drama Nemesis premieres on May 14, with Y’lan Noel (Insecure, The First Purge) and Matthew Law (Abbott Elementary, Ahsoka) starring as antagonists on opposite sides of the law. Announced in March of last year, the story follows Noel’s expert criminal, Coltrane Wilder, combating Law’s genius police detective, Isaiah Stiles, in a high-stakes heist drama. The expansive main cast includes Power franchise alums Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains) as attorney Sam Marrow, and Shane Johnson (Chicago P.D.), Cleopatra Coleman (Infinity Pool, The Last Man on Earth), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire), Tre Hale (Welcome to Flatch, Upload), Ariana Guerra (Five Feet Apart, Dumplin’), Gabrielle Dennis (A Black Lady Sketch Show, The Bobby Brown Story), Michael Potts (The Wire, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Cedric Joe (Space Jam: A New Legacy, Women of the Movement), Sophina Brown (Shark, Numbers), Jonnie Park (The Rookie, NCIS: Los Angeles) and Jeff Pierre (Walker, Once Upon a Time).
A handful of actors are set for recurring roles, including Quincy Isaiah (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, The Good Lord Bird), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre, Miss Bala), Moe Irvin (Grey’s Anatomy, The Human Quality), Jay Reeves (Safety, All American), Mike O’Malley (Glee, Yes, Dear), Siua Ikale’o (NCIS: Hawai’i, Magnum P.I.) and Kahlilah Joi (How to get Away with Murder, Black Lightning).
As showrunner, this is Kemp’s first Netflix series. She also serves as executive producer with co-creator Tani Marole, Philipp Barnett (Euphoria, Griselda), Mario Van Peebles (New Jack City, Panther) and Chris Selak (Power Book II: Ghost, Rude Awakening). Peebles is set to direct the first two episodes.
All eight episodes of Nemesis arrive May 14 only on Netflix.
