Netflix, perhaps following in the footsteps of Amazon Prime, has just added offline viewing – you can now watch your favorite shows on your iPad on an airplane. The feature is included in all plans with no extra fee and can be used on both phones and tablets, but not desktop computers or laptops.
This feature was announced in a press release from the company this morning, which noted that offline viewing has been requested by Netflix subscribers hoping to watch or binge-watch shows like Stranger Things while on a plane or in places with limited or no internet access.
Viewers now have access to a download button on a film or television show’s details page which they can use to watch their entertainment of choice when offline, IndieWire reports. As of yet, every title is not available for offline viewing, but many Netflix Originals already are: Orange Is the New Black, Narcos, The Crown.
