Netflix Adds New ‘Remove from Row’ Feature, Allowing Users to Declutter Their Accounts

‘Remove from Row,’ a new feature on Netflix, will allow subscribers to purge their list of shows held in the ‘Continue Watching’ section of their accounts. While it’s not a revolutionary upgrade, Netflix users are celebrating a chance to streamline their streaming experience, according to Deadline.

Prior to this change, every program a subscriber selected would appear in a list of running titles called the ‘Continue Watching’ row. This became bothersome to users; the platform cluttered up what was supposed to be a condensed list of programs users were interested in by adding every program they expressed even a slight interest in watching to their row. As users added more titles to the list, it would push older shows further down the line but would never fully get rid of them.

A Twitter user created a thread about the process of utilizing the new feature, which can be seen below:

Via Deadline, the streamer says the feature has been available for some time but has generated buzz now that the ‘Remove from Row’ feature has been applied to iOS devices since June 29.

Per Netflix: “When you hide titles from your viewing activity, they won’t appear in Netflix as a movie or TV show you have watched. They won’t be used to make recommendations to you unless you watch them again. Hiding titles from viewing activity will also remove them from the Continue Watching row,” as written by Deadline.

The feature, according to Netflix, may not yet be available to everyone. When the feature is available for use, it may take 24 hours to purge the selected program from the user’s account.
