According to TheWrap, Netflix has acquired the Egyptian documentary The Square.
Netflix has acquired the Egyptian protest documentary produced by Jehane Noujaim. The movie tells the story of the Egyptian Revolution through the eyes of young activists. The film shows Khalid Abdalia, an Egyptian actor who had the lead role in The Kite Runner. Magdy, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, is also appearing in the movie.
Netflix acquired the movie after making a strong entry this year at the Emmy Awards by gaining 14 nominations for House of Cards and Arrested Development.
