Following up to our piece on Bryan Fuller and Michael Green leaving the Starz hit American Gods, additional information has been released that author Neil Gaiman will not be taking over. According to Tweets from Gaiman directly, he prefers to stay on the writing side of things.
With more than half of Season 2 already written, Gaiman’s role will remain as it has been. Starz has yet to issue any type of update on release dates or official statement on the replacement showrunners. For Gaiman fans looking to get a little more insight into his TV show making skills, look for Good Omens on Amazon soon. Amidst all of the news and replies about AG, he managed to do a bit of promotion for that show with a wonderful teaser photo.
Jon Hamm joins co-stars David Tenant and Michael Sheen in the dark comedy miniseries penned by Gaiman and fellow author Terry Pratchett. Good Omens main plot is the end of times sprinkled with interesting sub-stories including the anti-Christ being switched at birth.
Until American Gods returns or Good Omens begins, we’re left to our own Gaiman-imagination.
