The trailer for the third and final season of Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico was released Monday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trailer shows the emergence of bosses from the Sinaloa, when the Tijuana and Juárez cartels deal with the departure of narco Felix Gallardo, played by Diego Luna (Rogue One).
The first two seasons of the Narcos spinoff center around the rise and fall of the Godfather of the Guadalajara cartel, Gallardo, whose venture to abduct and murder DEA agent Kiki Camarena, played by Michael Peña (End of Watch), in season one transformed the relationship between the United States and Mexico during the war on drugs. In the second season’s finale, Gallardo is seen incarcerated.
With 10 episodes, the third season will launch on November 5. The official description reads, “Set in the ’90s, when the globalization of the drug business ignites, season three examines the war that breaks out after Felix’s arrest. As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty – and every arrest, murder and take-done only pushes real victory further away,” via The Hollywood Reporter.
New additions to the cast in the show’s third season include Luis Gerardo (Club de Cuervos), Alberto Guerra (Guerra de ídolos), and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, also known as singer Bad Bunny. Alfonso Dosal (One Small Problem), Mayra Hermosillo (Nostalgia), Matt Letscher (The Mask of Zorro), Manuel Masalva (La Guzmán), Alejandra Edda (The Forever Purge), and Gorka Lasaosa (Brain Drain 2) will reprise their roles in the upcoming season.
This final season will bring the Narcos franchise to its sixth season overall, remaining a top global performer for Netflix original series. The trailer for the third season of Narcos: Mexico can be viewed below. It will premiere in November.
