‘My Dad The Bounty Hunter’ Canceled On Netflix After Two Seasons

The Netflix animated series My Dad The Bounty Hunter is ending its time on air. According to Deadline, the series will not be renewed and has been canceled after its second season. The show ran from its debut in February 2023 and released the second season in August 2023.

One of the co-creators of the series Everett Downing Jr. confirmed that My Dad The Bounty Hunter will be ending its run. He spoke to Whats-On-Netflix.com and expressed his sadness about the cancellation of the series. The co-creator said, “I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to work with such an incredible team of partners and artists. It’s so unreal watching your ideas come to life! Everyone who worked on the show fell in love with Terry, Tess, Lisa, Sean, and the entire cast of quirky, wild, and crazy characters. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to revisit this world again someday. For now, these characters and stories will be living rent-free in my heart for the rest of my life.”

Despite the cancellation of the series, it still holds an impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and remains extremely popular on the Netflix charts. According to Deadline, the official logline of the series describes it as an intergalactic action-comedy that takes place in the massive galaxy that surrounds our very own planet Earth. It reads, “The action-comedy series follows the toughest bounty hunter in all the galaxy, a man with razor-sharp skills, but also a secret – his family on Earth has no idea what he does for a living.”

The animated series starred a whole ensemble of voice actors including Laz Alonso (The Boys), Yvonne Orji (Insecure, Vacation Friends), Priah Ferguson (Stranger Things), Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Keith David (Hazbin Hotel), and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Farming) among others. It was created by Downing and Patick Harpin. You can watch the first two seasons of My Dad The Bounty Hunter on Netflix.
