Music Producer T Bone Burnett to Leave ABC’s ‘Nashville’

The drama continues for ABC’s series Nashville, as their executive music producer T Bone Burnett has confirmed he will not be returning for the second season, the Hollywood Reporter announced.

Burnett’s manager stated his departure is simply because of his overwhelming workload, saying, “His slate of other film, television and recording projects would have made it impossible for him to return for a second season.” He went on to say Burnett planned on staying with Nashville for only one season from the very beginning, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

Burnett, who happens to be married to the creator of the country music drama, Callie Khouri, produced and oversaw many recordings and songs from the series. The Hollywood Reporter noted his manager stating Burnett “became close to many of the actors on Nashville, and wishes all of them — as well as the show’s producers, writers and crew — all the best with the coming season.”

Actors on the show share the closeness with Burnett, as they have been quoted professing their praises for the producer. Connie Britton told the Huffington Post, “Part of what excited me about the show was the challenge of singing…I can tell you for sure that I could not do this without T Bone Burnett. He is a master. He is just beyond amazing.” Sam Palladio called him “one of the best in the industry.”

The second season of Nashville will return to ABC this fall.
